I’m taking my holiday break to catch up on blogging! I know that time is of the essence here before I get busy again so I’ve prioritized some posts. I really wanted to start with this Henderson Colorado newborn photography session. I so thoroughly enjoyed working with Amberly and Nathan (Mom and Dad) and I loved the results of their session with baby Lucas.
Lifestyle sessions have a special place in my heart because I get a chance to spend time in the realm of the brand new family. I miss those magic weeks when a new baby arrived and changed life forever. Seeing a beautifully decorated nursery reminds me of the months I spent waiting for my own babies – adjusting every detail and wondering what that little person would be like. The anticipation and joy is palpable in the room before the baby every arrives home. I love all the little pieces contributed by friends and family as they too longed for baby’s birthday. In this particular case, Amberly and Nathan had a very talented friend create most of the unique wooden decor pieces. From the animal mobile to the little mountain bookends, the fingerprint of Lucas’s “Village” are present.
Equally important is the family who resides in the space and spying on the coziness that is a barefoot morning at home with baby. However brief, I enjoy being a fly on the wall as these wonderful people learn to be parents. I love the awe-filled stares that new parents give their children and each other. It’s an unscripted moment of life that differs greatly from a posed studio session for sure. I loved every minute and I hope that shows.
The light was shifting to the other side of the house, so we headed across the hall to the master bedroom for more shots. The blue and grey over there melded seamlessly with what we had in the nursery. This album was beautifully cohesive. I love their style!
